HAS TO
has to be
about bears
about doors
that open
where bears
should be

TELL ME AGAIN
day floats by
a great whale
drunken cricket songs
drown the shushing sea
the door to the cellar of myself
is swollen shut with tears
I will never forget
this land is not my own
slanting sun lays bare
fleshy limbs of beech trees
goes down in rosy waves
is the day endingor is the secret [...]
Editor’s Note:
I met Bill Mohr recently when he read a selection of Leland Hickman’s work at a special tribute to the late poet.
We are honored to have some of Bill’s work on blueprint. He teaches at California State University, Long Beach.

LES PECHES AU CYGNE
being extinguished
even enlightenment
feels its tranquility
pinched
as the rind
peels away

REVELATION
Common as coin and wrapped mint
spilled on a table in a portal of half-light.
In season the ripe outstrips even desire.
A fine dust settles on the Fuyu persimmon,
comparison to time, useless. I polish then peel
and slice. The taste, a perfection words can’t craft.
Thus, by flesh, intimacy has been written.
Not [...]
FORTUNE
What is sought
after cannot be found in word
or seed.
She tapes promises
from Chinese fortune cookies
to the first page of a journal –
disembodied leaves. Consults them
as migratory birds do
thermals.
Take heart. Nothing lost, each abundance caught
and released as season
dictates.
For instance, Fall is a spill
leaving a body
naked.
Welcome her.
Thoughts
My eyes search the area restlessly
Desperate to see those eyes peering back
Once captured she doesn’t let go
My lips graciously curl into a smile
I speak his name
Excitement, anxiety and happiness swell up through my chest
They travel, nearing my heart
Gathering they mix and warm my soul
My body reacts without mind
It knows what it wants
The image of [...]
Where has the morning dew gone?
I see it gather, collecting in the dips and curves of the flowers
and plants that it embraces
still, waiting
when the plant is disturbed the dew
separates and scatters
as it’s up in the air it struggles to reform itself
Finally a couple of drops make it back to its
Safe center
The other droplets, [...]
Rhea
I’m like a still phantom caught between this realm.
Lingering through life as a burden,
while I remain dying within.
I can’t stand this bolt of lightning set inside.
It crumbles my emotions and sets forth the truth.
Through the mourning silence lies my dream.
It captures the still presence of my sorrow.
Look me in the eyes and hold me in [...]
AMOR SINCERO
Ronald Godoy
Luna escondida,
brilla un lucero,
te doy mi vida..
Amor sincero
Noche callada,
viento ligero,
una mirada..
Amor sincero
Un sol brillante,
sol de Febrero,
amor de amante
Amor sincero
Amor discreto,
amor primero,
amor secreto..
Amor sincero
Amor inmenso,
fiel compañero,
solo en ti pienso..
Amor sincero
Te doy un beso,
oigo un te quiero,
yo sé que es eso..
Amor sincero
Quiero tenerte,
sin un tercero,
quiero decirte..
Amor sincero
Solo contigo
si,.. lo prefiero,
sola conmigo..
Amor sincero
Callo mis penas,
no desespero,
vas [...]
Mother
Mother, I Love you a lot, a lot
my Love for you is
as huge as the moon
that I write you this poem
to thank you
for not
aborting me
I really, really thank you
if you would have
done it,
I would have
never
fallen in Love
mother, I’ve fallen in Love
with a sweet
beautiful princess
that now,
all my heart
belong to her
Mother, once again
I thank you a lot
for [...]
